President Moon meets 'Jalipjunbi Youth'... "Will help find aptitude and career path"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in met with 'Youth Preparing for Independence' from child welfare facilities and announced that the government will support them in finding their aptitudes and career paths.
On the morning of the 10th, President Moon and the First Lady hosted a luncheon meeting with Youth Preparing for Independence at the Inwang Room of the Blue House main building, stating, "Economic support alone is not enough. True independence is possible only when young people know what their dreams are and what they need to do to achieve those dreams."
President Moon emphasized, "Our government has significantly strengthened the state's responsibility from protection to independence. First, we changed the term from 'children aging out of care' to 'Youth Preparing for Independence.' To prevent young people from entering society unprepared, the protection period can be extended from age 18 up to 24 based on the individual's wishes."
