French and German Teachers Selected for First Time in 22 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 10th the successful candidates for the 2022 public middle school teachers, special education teachers, health, nutrition, librarian, and professional counseling teacher appointments.
The final successful candidates total 617 across 25 subjects. Among them, male candidates accounted for 19.9% (123 people), an increase of 0.8 percentage points compared to the previous year.
The passing score for the general selection was highest in Geography (183.27), followed by Mathematics (175.50), English (174.04), and Information and Computer (173.73).
The number of successful candidates under the disability quota was 27, including 7 individuals with severe visual impairments.
To ensure the stable operation of the high school credit system, French and German teachers were selected for the first time in 22 years. There are 2 French teachers and 1 German teacher.

The successful candidates will complete job training remotely from the 14th to the 23rd before their appointment. They are scheduled to be appointed as new teachers starting March 1 according to the teacher supply and demand plan.
