National Medical Center Launches Full-Scale New Hospital Construction... Establishes Construction Committee
26 Construction Committee Members to Operate for the Next 2 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 10th that it will launch a Construction Committee to actively promote the new construction and relocation project of the National Medical Center.
The Construction Committee is an organization established to systematically and comprehensively support the new construction project, aiming to simultaneously build the main National Medical Center, the Central Infectious Disease Hospital, and the Central Trauma Center.
The Construction Committee consists of a total of 26 members, including co-chairpersons (the 2nd Vice Minister of Health and Welfare and the Director of the National Medical Center), 7 government members, and 17 private members. The appointed committee members, experts in medical treatment, research, architecture, public healthcare, executives of public institutions, and legal experts, will be active for the next two years.
The committee is organized into three subcommittees for building the best hospital befitting a national central hospital: ▲ Medical Treatment & Research ▲ Architecture ▲ Governance & Operations. It also plans to discuss the mid- to long-term development direction of the National Medical Center, including advice and deliberation on overall field-specific implementation plans related to construction measures.
Additionally, to facilitate the practical promotion of the Construction Committee, a secretariat including the Ministry of Health and Welfare, related ministries, and the National Medical Center will be established. A construction promotion team will be formed mainly with internal personnel of the National Medical Center to support the activities of the Construction Committee by field.
