At the meeting, the expanded chairpersons received reports from the Deputy Mayor on key issues including the 'Establishment of a dedicated organization for the promotion of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Special Local Government,' 'Promotion of Gunwi-gun's incorporation into Daegu City,' 'Diversification of Daegu's water intake sources in the Nakdong River basin,' and 'Enactment and amendment of special laws for the successful construction of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport.'
The chairpersons requested that Daegu City proceed with these projects meticulously with a long-term perspective and urged a prompt resolution regarding the postponement of the submission of the bill related to Gunwi-gun's incorporation into Daegu City to the National Assembly.
They emphasized the necessity of enacting and amending the related special laws within a short period to successfully advance the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport construction project.
They stated that building transportation infrastructure connecting the new airport and developing previously used land are major projects that will drive Daegu's future, requiring proactive and effective planning.
