Jeonnam Province to Operate 24-Hour Home Treatment Consultation Center
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province announced on the 9th that starting from the 10th, it will begin preparations for a Home Care Support Counseling Center targeting the general management group for home treatment and promote non-face-to-face medical consultations in connection with local clinics and hospitals.
According to the restructuring of the home treatment monitoring system, the general management group, which has a lower risk compared to the intensive management group, will self-manage, and if necessary, non-face-to-face medical consultations will be conducted in connection with clinics and hospitals through the Home Care Support Counseling Center.
Accordingly, 23 centers will be opened, including one at the provincial level (COVID-19 Counseling Center) and 22 at the city and county levels (Home Care Support Counseling Centers), focusing on the general management group, and they will operate 24 hours a day.
The Home Care Promotion Team within the public health center will provide administrative and medical consultations at the Home Care Support Counseling Center, and if necessary, coordinate telephone consultations and prescription of medicines in connection with local clinics and hospitals.
The Home Care Support Counseling Center will be staffed with medical, health, and administrative personnel and will handle administrative civil complaints, link designated respiratory treatment medical institutions, provide medical consultations, and coordinate with medical institutions and request transportation assistance in case of emergencies.
There are 15 private medical institutions in the province designated as respiratory clinics capable of non-face-to-face medical consultations for general home treatment patients. Additionally, 80 designated respiratory treatment medical institutions currently operating will participate, totaling 104 institutions.
Jeonnam Province plans to expand the number of local clinics and hospitals capable of integrated medical management for patients, from COVID-19 testing to home treatment, to 360 locations in the future.
Regarding the delivery of medicines prescribed through non-face-to-face consultations, it is principle that cohabiting family members receive the medicines, but in cases where it is difficult for elderly living alone to receive them, the public health center will support delivery.
