70-Year-Old Man with Low Blood Pressure Urgently Transported from Chuja Island, Jeju
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] A man in his 70s whose blood pressure rapidly dropped due to epistaxis (nosebleed) on Chuja Island, Jeju City, was transported by the Jeju Coast Guard.
According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 9th, at around 9:11 a.m., a report was received from the Chuja Health Center in Chuja-myeon, Jeju City, stating that a man in his 70s had a severe epistaxis causing a rapid decline in consciousness and blood pressure, requiring urgent transport to a hospital in Jeju City.
Upon receiving the report, the Jeju Coast Guard dispatched a 500-ton patrol vessel patrolling nearby waters and arrived off Shinyang Port, Chuja, at around 9:50 a.m. At 9:58 a.m., they received the man in his 70s and two guardians from the Chuja Police Substation coastal rescue boat and transported them to Jeju Port.
The Coast Guard docked at Jeju Port at approximately 11:17 a.m. and safely handed over the patient to a waiting 119 ambulance.
Meanwhile, this marks the third emergency patient transport from Chuja Island by the Jeju Coast Guard this year.
