Ubicare Reports 111.8 Billion KRW in Sales Last Year, Up 6.6% Year-on-Year
Steady Growth in Core Businesses Including EMR
"Embracing Both Medical Consumers and Providers"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Digital healthcare solution company Ubicare announced on the 9th that its consolidated sales last year were tentatively estimated at 111.8 billion KRW, a 6.6% increase from the previous year.
Operating profit was 10 billion KRW, down 22.2% from the previous year, and net profit recorded 13.6 billion KRW. The company explained that increased investment costs related to focusing on new businesses last year and the hiring of specialized personnel had an impact.
Despite difficult market conditions due to the spread of COVID-19, all business sectors achieved external growth. By business segment, sales from hospital and clinic, pharmacy electronic medical records (EMR) business reached 57.6 billion KRW, and medical device distribution business sales were 44.3 billion KRW, increasing by 7.1% and 7.6% respectively compared to the previous year. In particular, the EMR business segment saw sales growth driven by value-added services in hospitals and clinics.
The pharmaceutical and data business grew slightly with a 0.4% increase in sales. This was due to the contraction of face-to-face sales activities during the pandemic and a decrease in pharmaceutical companies' marketing expenses.
