Suwon City Provides 500,000 Won Emergency Disaster Relief Fund to Unemployed Youth
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will provide 500,000 won of the 'Suwon-type Emergency Disaster Relief Fund' to young people in Suwon who lost their jobs after the COVID-19 crisis.
The eligible individuals are young people aged 19 to 34 (born between January 1988 and December 2003) who were employed for at least 4 weeks in part-time, short-term, daily labor, or part-time jobs but resigned after February 23, 2020, and are involuntarily unemployed as of the application date for the disaster relief fund.
Applicants must have an address in Suwon City as of the announcement date (February 7) and have been unemployed for at least one month.
Eligible youth can apply from February 10 to February 25 through the Gyeonggi Job Foundation's integrated application system (https://apply.jobaba.net).
Applicants must submit an application form, their employment contract or documents verifying short-term employment, and a resident registration certificate, among other documents.
On the Gyeonggi Job Foundation's integrated application system homepage, applicants can select Suwon City under 'Region Selection' to view the related announcement. The application form is attached to the announcement.
After review, young people who meet the eligibility criteria will be selected and paid 500,000 won in disaster relief funds in the order of application.

A city official stated, "As the COVID-19 crisis prolongs and the local economy stagnates, young people are facing difficulties in job searching," adding, "We hope the Suwon-type Emergency Disaster Relief Fund will provide some support to unemployed youth."
