[Olympics] Park Jang-hyeok Injured During Quarterfinal Race
Advanced to semifinals but participation status uncertain
Short track men's national team member Park Jang-hyeok (Sports Toto) was injured while competing in the men's 1000m quarterfinal race. In the men's 1000m quarterfinal heat 1 at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics held on the 7th at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing, China, he collided with Italy's Pietro Sighel, who aggressively cut into the inside lane with three laps remaining to the finish line. Losing his balance, Park Jang-hyeok fell and then collided again with China's Wu Dajing, who was following behind. Park tried to get up and continue the race but sat down clutching his left hand in pain. The referee called the medical team, and he was soon taken off the rink on a stretcher. Park advanced to the semifinals by advance but his participation is uncertain.
