With the presidential election just a month away and the approval ratings fluctuating in a tight race, he appears to be attempting to expand his base once again by emphasizing integration and inclusion, such as the 'People's Cabinet.'
On the same day, Lee attended the launch ceremony of the 'National Policy Research Forum,' a gathering of former high-ranking public officials, at the Press Center, stating, "An integrated government that does not discriminate by political camp in terms of talent and policy is necessary, and the cabinet should also become a People's Cabinet."
Lee also said, "To become a competent government, the nation must mobilize all human and material resources it possesses. In policy as well, if it most helps improve the lives of the people, it should not matter whether the source is left-wing or right-wing, conservative or progressive," adding, "Because the nation's talent is limited, all available human resources must be mobilized, and there should be no distinction between left and right camps?this is my firm belief."
Following his meeting with former People Power Party chief Kim Jong-in the previous day, Lee plans to meet with former lawmaker Lee Sang-don on the same day. He said, "We will take responsibility for all the achievements and failures of previous democratic governments, inherit what was done well, fill in what was lacking, correct what was wrong, and add new things," emphasizing, "Therefore, we will create an evolved democratic government."

Lee emphasized, "Using opportunities as opportunities is ordinary, but failing to properly utilize opportunities is a sin as a public official," and added, "True capability is turning crises into opportunities to create a better future for the nation."
