Hydrogen vehicles are eco-friendly vehicles that emit only a small amount of water during operation, unlike the exhaust gases of conventional vehicles, making them effective in reducing fine dust.
Using a hydrogen vehicle reduces fuel costs by about 20% compared to gasoline vehicles (Nexo, 17-inch standard), and offers various benefits such as acquisition tax reduction up to 1.4 million KRW, annual automobile tax reduction of 130,000 KRW, 50% discount on public parking lots, and 50% discount on highway tolls.
The hydrogen vehicle subsidy provides 33.1 million KRW per vehicle, and when the purchaser signs a purchase contract and applies for the subsidy with the hydrogen vehicle manufacturer and seller, the manufacturer and seller apply to Changwon City on behalf of the purchaser.
Meanwhile, Changwon City currently operates 1,109 hydrogen electric vehicles, including 28 hydrogen buses, and operates a total of six hydrogen charging stations in Seongju, Pallyong, Deokdong, Jungang, Jukgok, and Sarim. The city is promoting the construction of hydrogen charging stations in Daewon-dong, Seongju-dong, Yangdeok-dong, and Gapodong this year, and plans to increase the number to 17 stations by 2025.
Additionally, the city plans to supply hydrogen city buses, hydrogen low-floor buses to be released in the second half of the year, hydrogen cargo trucks, and hydrogen cleaning vehicles.
