[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency are working to discover startups in innovative and new industry sectors within the province that have high growth potential and nurture them to grow into sustainable companies.
According to the province on the 7th, the Gyeonggi Venture Startup Support Center operates as a hub providing office space and customized programs to promising venture companies, with a total of 11 centers in northern Gyeonggi (Goyang, Guri, Namyangju, Uijeongbu1, Uijeongbu2) and southern Gyeonggi (Bucheon, Seongnam, Anseong, Anyang, Uiwang, Pangyo).
The venture centers accepting residents are seven in total: Goyang, Namyangju, Uijeongbu1, Uijeongbu2, Seongnam, Anyang, and Anseong, recruiting 29 companies until the 28th of this month. In particular, this year, companies applying in innovative and new industry sectors (BIG3, DNA, Carbon Neutrality, etc.) will receive preferential treatment during the evaluation to lead the digital innovation economy.
Selected companies can use office space at low rental fees and have free access to facilities such as meeting rooms, training rooms, and collaboration spaces.
Additionally, support is provided in areas including ▲Marketing (production of promotional materials, SNS promotion, participation in domestic and international exhibitions) ▲Commercialization (prototype production, various certifications, intellectual property application and registration) ▲Management (digital lectures, company meetings, specialized education) ▲Networking.
Among these, commercialization support will be focused with a limit of 10 million KRW per company, and marketing support with a limit of 5 million KRW per company.
Furthermore, by only bearing material costs, companies can use a one-stop service covering design, planning, consulting, and prototype production at prototype production centers located in eight venture centers (Goyang, Namyangju, Bucheon, Anyang, Uiwang, Pangyo, Anseong, Hanam (planned)) and Station-G (Ansan) startup spaces, totaling nine locations.
The prototype production centers are equipped with various equipment for prototype production such as 3D printers (entry-level and industrial), laser cutters, 3D scanners, various tools, and also have a 'photo studio' for photographing completed prototypes.
