[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) has shared the ‘2022. Changing District Administration,’ which comprehensively covers the major policies and projects newly implemented, expanded, or changed this year, on its website.
‘2022. Changing District Administration’ is a guidebook organizing useful policy information for daily life and is included in the 2022 major work plan booklet.
This year, it introduces 25 projects across seven fields: ▲Economy & Taxation ▲Welfare ▲Environment ▲Childcare & Education ▲Safety ▲Health ▲Administration & Others.
First, in the economy and taxation sector, the Dongjak-gu living wage applied to workers affiliated with investment and funded institutions under the district will be raised to 10,766 KRW per hour. This is 117% of this year’s minimum wage of 9,160 KRW, and when converted to a monthly salary (based on 209 working hours per month), it amounts to 2,250,094 KRW.
Additionally, the traditional market online ordering system will be expanded. Previously, online orders were only possible through Naver, but this year it will be extended to five shopping malls including Coupang, Wemakeprice, and Korea Post, enhancing convenience for residents.
In the welfare sector, the payment amount for the national veterans’ honor allowance will be increased from 20,000 KRW to 30,000 KRW. A vulnerable group health promotion support project, which delivers health drinks and nutritious meals to check on single-person households, will be implemented in all neighborhoods.
The childcare and education sector features notable new systems. Children born this year will receive a ‘First Meeting Voucher’ worth 2 million KRW, and for children under 2 years old (0?23 months) raised at home, a monthly infant allowance of 300,000 KRW will be provided. The child allowance, previously paid up to under 7 years old, will be expanded to under 8 years old. Eco-friendly school meals, which supported elementary, middle, high schools, and special schools, will be extended to kindergartens starting March this year.
Furthermore, various facility openings are also covered, including ▲Creation of a youth creative innovation experience space in Daebang-dong (scheduled for April) ▲Completion of the Noryangjin modern sewer box cultural space (scheduled for April) ▲Opening of the Shindaebang-dong complex library (scheduled for September) ▲Opening of five national and public daycare centers ▲Expansion of two communal childcare spaces, Moms Heart Cafe.
