On the 6th, Kwon Young-se, head of the campaign headquarters, said, "I am informing you of the official stance of the campaign headquarters regarding the discussion on opposition unification," clarifying the position.
This statement directly contradicts the unification-related remarks made the previous day by Won Hee-ryong, head of the policy division of the campaign headquarters. In an interview with Yonhap News Agency the day before, Won said, "It is now time to mention (unification). The election is just a few days away." However, when asked if Candidate Yoon also thinks unification is necessary, Won replied, "I assume so."
