Gyeongbuk Uljin-gun Discovers New Children Eligible for This Year's 'Dream Start' Program
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is starting to discover new beneficiaries for the 'Dream Start Project' to eliminate welfare blind spots for vulnerable children as the new year begins.
The Dream Start Project is a child welfare program that supports the healthy growth and development of vulnerable children under the age of 12, ensuring equal starting opportunities so they can grow into healthy and happy members of society.
It targets vulnerable children from households receiving National Basic Livelihood Security, near-poverty, single-parent, and grandparent-headed families. Additionally, if families apply, child integrated case managers conduct home visit consultations and living condition surveys before selecting beneficiaries. Customized integrated support services are provided according to the caregiving environment and the child's developmental stage.
Last year, 232 beneficiaries from 200 households received various customized integrated welfare services, including caregiving situation checks, welfare service linkage, dairy products, birthday cakes, residential disinfection, eyeglass support, psychological counseling support, and family outing support.
