Gurye-gun Ensures Clean and Safe Tap Water Production and Supply
Upgrading Aging Water Purification Plants, Expanding Local Water Supply Systems, and Increasing Sewage Treatment Facilities

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] On the 4th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will promote projects such as the maintenance of aging water purification plants, expansion of local water supply systems, and expansion of sewage treatment facilities to provide residents with clean and safe tap water.
The county plans to invest 26.4 billion KRW in the annual project for the maintenance of aging water supply networks, carrying out maintenance of aging pipes (40.7 km) and leakage detection and repair (523 km). It will also lead efforts to protect water resources by improving water quality through professional facility management and operation, including private consignment operation of environmental basic facilities such as village sewage treatment facilities (43 locations, 1.107 billion KRW) and technical diagnosis (5 locations, 165 million KRW).
In addition, various water and sewage infrastructure expansion projects are underway, including 26.8 billion KRW for aging water purification plant maintenance, 26 billion KRW for local water supply system expansion, 10 billion KRW for Gurye sewage treatment facility expansion, and 57 billion KRW for the focused management area sewage system maintenance project in Gurye-eup and Masan-myeon. These projects are expected to greatly contribute to improving the quality of life for residents.
To restore water and sewage facilities damaged by floods, 7.1 billion KRW will be invested in the disaster recovery projects for Gurye Intake Plant and Seomjingang Water Purification Plant, including the construction of new water purification reservoirs at both plants. Additionally, 49.4 billion KRW will be invested in the rapid restoration and normalization of Gurye sewage treatment facilities and human and livestock waste treatment facilities by the end of the year.
A county official stated, “We will do our best to realize clear water, clean water, and a pristine Gurye by improving water quality through systematic supply and management of clear water, maintaining aging water and sewage pipelines, and establishing prompt and trusted water and sewage administrative services through efficient maintenance.”
