Recovery of the Third Victim in Gwangju Apartment Collapse Completed... In Cardiac Arrest Condition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The third victim of the collapse accident at the newly constructed apartment by Hyundai Industrial Development in Gwangju has been recovered and transported to the hospital.
According to the Central Accident Recovery Headquarters and the Regional Accident Recovery Integrated Countermeasures Headquarters on the 2nd, at around 3:29 PM, one person buried in the master bedroom of Unit 2 on the 27th floor of the collapsed building was recovered. It has been ten days since the location was identified.
The buried person was finally confirmed on the afternoon of the 25th when a rescue dog found bloodstains and work clothes, and an endoscopic camera was used for final confirmation. The bloodstains found were collected to confirm the identity, but the layers of concrete and rebar made the rescue difficult.
The authorities believe the person is deceased, but they refrained from making a final death determination, stating that the medical staff will make the judgment after transport to the hospital.
