Education Welfare Without Discrimination... Ulsan Office of Education Provides Elementary School Enrollment Preparation Funds
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education will provide elementary school enrollment preparation funds to parents starting from March 11.
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education supports the enrollment preparation funds to strengthen the accountability of public education and to consider educational welfare equity following the support for school uniforms for new middle and high school students.
The support targets are first-grade new students in elementary schools and special elementary school courses in the Ulsan area as of March 4. There are no restrictions based on the student's age or household income.
According to this year's preliminary gathering, there are 4,729 students in Gangnam and 6,357 in Gangbuk, totaling 11,086 students eligible.
The support amount is 100,000 KRW per person and will be paid to the student's school banking account at their respective schools without a separate application from the parents.
Parents without a school banking account must submit an application form to the school. All funding is provided from the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education's own budget.
After the school opens in March, schools will guide the enrollment preparation fund support plan and check parents' school banking accounts to help parents use the funds to cover costs such as bags and indoor shoes.
An official from the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education said, "We expect the enrollment preparation funds to reduce the educational expenses burden on parents of elementary school freshmen and also contribute to economic revitalization," adding, "We will realize equitable educational welfare through public education that the state is responsible for."
The Office of Education will expand the support for high school field trip expenses, which was previously limited to low-income and multi-child students, to all students this year, providing up to 200,000 KRW.
