Former Vice Chairman Koo Bon-seong of Ourhome Under Police Investigation for Embezzlement and Breach of Trust
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Former Ourhome Vice Chairman Koo Bon-sung, who was dismissed from his CEO position last year, is under police investigation after being sued by the company on charges of embezzlement and breach of trust.
On the 4th, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced that former Vice Chairman Koo has been booked and is under investigation for embezzlement and breach of trust in violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (Special Act on Economic Crimes).
Ourhome reportedly discovered circumstances where former Vice Chairman Koo received salaries and performance bonuses exceeding the prescribed limits and filed a complaint with the police in November last year.
A police official stated, "We are currently verifying the exact amount embezzled and breached," adding, "We are conducting witness investigations and plan to summon the accused for questioning soon."
Former Vice Chairman Koo was previously tried for retaliatory driving, damaging another vehicle and hitting the driver after they got out, and was sentenced to six months in prison with a two-year probation in the first trial in June last year.

Subsequently, Koo was dismissed after losing a management rights dispute with his three younger sisters, and the youngest sister, Koo Ji-eun, is currently serving as the CEO.
