Gwangju Dong-gu Implements 'Dong-gu Residents' Life Safety Insurance' to Prevent Accidents
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dong-gu, Gwangju announced on the 3rd that it will implement the 'Dong-gu Residents' Life Safety Insurance,' which has expanded coverage to include injury, death, and disability from public transportation accidents starting this year.
The Dong-gu Residents' Life Safety Insurance has been in effect since last year to help citizens who suffer damage from various accidents and disasters that can unexpectedly occur in daily life to quickly stabilize their lives.
The eligible participants include all residents registered in Dong-gu, including registered foreigners, and enrollment and withdrawal occur automatically upon moving in or out without any separate procedures.
The coverage includes ▲death and disability from explosions, fires, collapses, and landslides ▲injury, death, disability, and medical expenses from public transportation accidents ▲drowning accidents and death ▲heat-related illness diagnosis benefits ▲death and disability from gas accidents ▲and burn surgery expenses.
The maximum coverage amount is up to 10 million KRW per item, and it can be overlapped regardless of compensation from other personal insurance policies.
