Three Remaining Members of Real Estate Sales Dormitory Abuse Gang Also Transferred to Prosecution
All 7 members of the group referred to the prosecution on charges including special injury causing disability
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] All members of a group accused of confining a man in his 20s at a real estate sales dormitory have been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 3rd, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced that on the 28th of last month, they had sent Kim (22), the dormitory manager, and Choi (25) to prosecution under detention on charges of special confinement and injury. In addition, Won (22), the wife of the previously detained sales team leader Park (28), was sent to prosecution without detention on the same charges.
They are accused of causing serious injury to Kim (21), who was staying together on the 7th floor of a villa at 10:08 a.m. on the 9th of this month, by forcing him to jump, along with four others who had been previously detained.
The victim Kim came to the dormitory after seeing posts such as "Runaways provided with food and lodging" posted by Won, the spouse of Team Leader Park, on social networking services (SNS) in September last year, but escaped about two weeks later.
However, at 12:27 a.m. on the 4th of last month, he was caught by the group in front of a motel in Myeonmok-dong, Jungnang-gu, and returned to the dormitory, where he was subjected to harsh treatment including head shaving and cold water.
He attempted to escape again on the 7th of the same month, but was caught again around 2 a.m. on the 9th in the Suwon Station waiting room, and was reportedly subjected to harsh treatment including beatings with wooden sticks, fists, and feet, and being bound with tape.
The police believe that Kim fell while trying to escape by climbing over the veranda to the outside roof on the day he fell.
