[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] LG Uplus announced on the 28th that it will broadcast the '2022 Beijing Winter Olympics,' opening on the 4th of next month, live on U+mobiletv. Anyone can use the service regardless of their telecom provider by downloading the U+mobiletv app from the app market.
Users can watch the games on four terrestrial channels (KBS1, KBS2, MBC, SBS) according to the broadcast schedule. A 'Highlights' content service is also available for customers who miss the live games.
A promotional event commemorating the Olympic live broadcast will also be held. Eligible participants include customers who leave support messages for the athletes on the app event page, watch Olympic highlight videos, or view paid and free video-on-demand (VOD) content in the Olympic special section. Through a surprise event, 100 customers who correctly predict game results will be selected by lottery to receive a tiger-shaped pure gold card gold bar (0.5g).
Lee Seok-young, Head of New Media Tribe at LG Uplus, said, "We will support customers to enjoy watching the Olympics and cheer for the Korean athletes through various events."
