Goheung-gun Announces 2022 County Administration Satisfaction Survey Results
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do conducted a satisfaction survey on military administration for residents over three days from January 19 to 21 to explore policy directions for regional development.
When asked whether Goheung-gun is managing military administration well, 76.6% of residents evaluated it as "doing well," showing high satisfaction, while 23.4% gave a negative evaluation saying "not doing well."
The satisfaction with military administration was higher among men at 78.4% compared to women at 73.6%, and by age group, those aged 60 and over evaluated positively at 81.0%.
The high positive evaluation of military administration is attributed to securing the largest-ever national and local government funds to lay the foundation for military administration development, and actively practicing resident-centered administration through communication efforts such as visiting residents' salons, field meetings in the fields, and on-site administration, which received favorable reviews from residents.
Regarding residential satisfaction, 51.7% responded "very satisfied" and 37.4% "generally satisfied," totaling 89.1%, indicating that residents are highly satisfied with living in Goheung.
Looking at satisfaction by sector, welfare policy satisfaction was the highest at 78.1%, followed by safety and environmental policy satisfaction at 77.3%, and agriculture, fisheries, and livestock industry policy satisfaction at 77.0%, receiving high evaluations.
In a survey asking the importance of six policy areas for county development, agriculture, fisheries, and livestock industry ranked first at 27.1%, resident welfare at 23.6%, culture and tourism at 15.5%, and population increase at 12.8%, showing that more than half of the residents consider agriculture, fisheries, livestock, and resident welfare as the most important fields.
As the most important policy Goheung-gun should focus on to overcome the COVID-19 economic crisis, job creation and employment maintenance were cited at 29.5%, followed by small business support at 21.7%, and securing sales channels for agricultural, fisheries, and livestock products at 19.1%.
A Goheung-gun official said, "It seems that residents have recognized the efforts made solely for residents' happiness and regional development during the three and a half years of the 7th local government administration," adding, "In the remaining period of the 7th local government, we will continue to listen to the vivid opinions of residents on-site and create a Goheung-gun where residents are the owners."
Meanwhile, this survey was conducted by Korea Information Research Co., Ltd., a registered public opinion survey institution, targeting 1,026 men and women aged 18 or older residing in Goheung-gun through telephone interviews (50%) and automated response methods (50%). The sampling error is ±3.1%p at a 95% confidence level, and the sample extraction applied the population distribution by gender, age, and region based on the resident registration population announced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety at the end of December 2021.
