View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Lotte Foods announced on the 26th that it sold luncheon meat canned ham in Thailand through the home shopping broadcast of GS Retail's Thailand branch (True Shopping) on the 19th.
Lotte Foods began exploring exports to Thailand in August 2020 and, after about a year of registration, started its first canned ham export last October. The sales target for canned ham in Thailand this year is over 1 million cans.
Lotte Foods stated, "In Thailand, interest in canned ham, which is easy to store, has increased due to the prolonged lockdowns following COVID-19. In particular, Lotte Foods' canned ham has a higher meat content compared to foreign products and is trusted as a Korean-made product, so despite its relatively higher price, sales are expanding locally."
To expand canned ham sales, Lotte Foods has been collaborating with local influencers since August last year, operating a YouTube channel featuring canned ham recipes and proposing recipes that harmonize luncheon meat with Thai cuisine.
