Various Stakeholders Participate to Strengthen Child Abuse Protection
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jongseon] Jeonnam Gokseong-gun announced that it has signed an agreement to establish a temporary protection system for abused children together with Gokseong Police Station, Gokseong Office of Education, Gokseong Sarang Hospital, Keunsarang Group Home, and four foster families.
Recently, the Child Welfare Act was revised with the main focus on reorganizing the public response system for child abuse.
Accordingly, Gokseong-gun held a signing ceremony for the agreement with temporary foster families and facilities to protect children who are victims of child abuse.
The related organizations and foster families that signed the agreement promised to work together to provide prompt emergency relief and medical treatment, offer temporary protection places, support the physical and mental development of abused children, and ensure continuous access to education.
The agreement is significant in that it expanded collaboration from the existing police station to other related organizations and the private sector.
Through this, it is expected that the issue of child abuse can be approached more quickly and comprehensively.
Gokseong-gun stated, “We will do our best to ensure that children grow up safely and healthily without being abused.”
A foster family participant, Mr. A, said, “By sharing information and resources, we will do our best not only to prevent abuse but also to ensure that society embraces and supports abused children.”
