The Bank of Korea Publishes Revised Edition of 'Korea's Financial Market'
Policy Responses Also Noted Amid COVID-19 Spread Impact
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] On the 31st, the Bank of Korea published a revised edition of "Korea's Financial Market," which comprehensively introduces the overall financial market of our country. This revised edition is the sixth since the first publication in 1999.
This revised edition reflects changes in domestic and international financial market environments and financial-related systems, and includes content on the global financial environment and financial markets, the impact of the spread of COVID-19, and policy responses to it.
In the short-term financial market, it includes policy measures to reduce risks in the repurchase agreement (RP) market, instability in the commercial paper (CP) market, and institutional improvements such as strengthening soundness regulations for short-term financial products like money market funds (MMF).
In the capital market, it describes the electronic securities system, an overview and issuance status of environment, social, and governance (ESG) bonds, and improvements in the issuance system of monetary stabilization bonds.
In the derivatives financial products market, it covers the overview and status of newly established domestic futures and options markets, and the growth of the exchange-traded products market.
