Active Priest Drives Drunk, Crashes into Traffic Light and Vehicle 'Bang'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] An active priest was caught by the police after driving under the influence and crashing into a traffic light in front of an elementary school, subsequently colliding with a vehicle waiting at the signal.
The Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul announced on the 30th that they have booked Mr. A, a man in his 30s and an active priest, on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of driving while heavily intoxicated around 10 p.m. on the 28th, crashing into a traffic light in front of an elementary school in Geumcheon-gu, and then colliding with a vehicle waiting at the signal.
At the scene, the police conducted a breathalyzer test and found Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration to be 0.218%, far exceeding the license cancellation limit. It was revealed that Mr. A did not stop after crashing into the traffic light, which had already been reported to the police, and continued driving, causing a second accident.
