Police Begin Investigation into Accident Circumstances
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] A taxi crashed through a wall and fell from the 5th-floor parking lot of a large supermarket located in Busan, prompting the police to launch an investigation. An Asia Economy reader sent the accident footage captured by the vehicle’s black box to the headquarters.
According to the footage and the Busan Yeonje Police Station, at around 12:32 PM on the 30th, a taxi driven by a man in his 70s, Mr. A, crashed through a wall on the 5th-floor parking lot of Homeplus Yeonsan Branch in Yeonje-gu, Busan, and fell onto vehicles waiting at a traffic signal below.
Mr. A was seriously injured in the accident and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Additionally, as the taxi fell, it collided with 13 vehicles that were stopped on the road, causing damage, and 8 people including drivers and pedestrians were injured.
The police stated, "The taxi crashed through the wall in the parking lot and fell onto vehicles waiting at the traffic signal." The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
