[Asia Economy Military Specialist Yang Nak-gyu] A soldier was injured when a Claymore detonator exploded at a forward unit in Gangwon Province. A Claymore is an anti-personnel mine installed in areas where enemy approach is expected during surveillance or ambush.
According to the Army on the 30th, at around 11:15 a.m., a Claymore detonator exploded for unknown reasons during a shift change of a surveillance unit at a base located in Yanggu. The detonator is the ignition device that triggers the explosion.
