Korea Railroad Wins 'Feasibility Study for Tanzania Railway Training Center Construction Project'
Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 30th that it has won the contract for the "Feasibility Study for the Construction of the Tanzania Railway Training Center," commissioned by the Export-Import Bank of Korea.
This project is a feasibility study to confirm the viability of establishing a railway operation personnel training institution to complete the 1,219 km Central Line railway construction project, which the Tanzanian government is promoting as the largest in East Africa.
KORAIL, as the lead company of the consortium, will conduct the feasibility study for about seven months starting from January 2022, in collaboration with Heerim Architects & Planners, a specialized architectural firm.
Through this contract, KORAIL plans to introduce Korea's railway technology and propose directions for developing an education system and educational content tailored to the current railway situation in Tanzania.
Park Tae-hoon, Head of KORAIL's Overseas Business Division, said, "We will do our best to ensure that KORAIL's world-class railway talent development know-how and railway education content become the cornerstone for nurturing railway talent in Tanzania."
Previously, KORAIL has been carrying out the "Supervision Project for the Tanzania Central Line Railway Construction," which it won in 2017.
