[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Choi Hyungsik, the mayor of Damyang County, revealed his vision for leading Damyang in the new year through his New Year's address.
Mayor Choi evaluated, "Despite difficult conditions last year, it was a meaningful year in which, supported by the encouragement and backing for county administration, we preserved the region's identity and created future growth engines for sustainable development."
He continued, "Based on the ecological city philosophy and vision that we have continuously pursued, I will fulfill my duty for the next millennium so that the unique Damyang, where ecology, gardens, humanities, history, and culture and arts harmonize, can continue."
Damyang County set this year's goals focusing on restoring citizens' daily lives and the stagnant local economy through systematic quarantine measures, presenting seven tasks: ▲ Damyang where everyone is happy through universal welfare ▲ Realization of competitive future agriculture ▲ Strengthening core infrastructure for sustainable development ▲ Securing new growth engines through revitalization of the local economy ▲ A tourist city where history, culture, and arts harmonize ▲ An ecological garden city where nature and gardens become one ▲ Realization of resident autonomy and humanities education city.
