"Clearer Mobile Phone Installment Repayment Methods" - KCC Improves Notification System
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) announced on the 30th that, in consultation with the three major mobile carriers, it has improved the notification process to clearly inform customers on subscription applications and billing statements that device installment payments and installment fees are billed in equal monthly installments.
This improvement was made in response to public complaints submitted through the National Petition System, requesting clearer information on the repayment method of device installment payments, as the current subscription applications and billing statements either do not specify or are unclear about the installment repayment method, making it difficult for users to understand.
Additionally, the KCC recommended that the three mobile carriers and retail stores cooperate to ensure users receive sufficient guidance on the repayment methods for device installment payments and installment fees, alongside the institutional improvements.
