The Mamma Supports the Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Alliance with Annual Sales of 1 Trillion Won in Entering 'E-commerce'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] TheMamma supports the entry of member companies of the Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Association (Chairman Kim Geuntae), a group with a combined annual sales of 1 trillion won, into e-commerce channels.
TheMamma announced on the 30th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Association to promote new business.
The two parties held the signing ceremony the day before at TheMamma Seoul office located in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Kim Minsu, CEO of TheMamma, Kim Geuntae, Chairman of the Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Association, along with TheMamma executives and about 20 representatives of member companies of the association, attended and pledged strategic cooperation for mutual growth.
TheMamma is a distribution IT company operating regional food material mart shopping apps 'Mamma Meokja' and 'MaZa'. Through the apps, it sells fresh food and industrial products from affiliated marts nationwide and provides same-day delivery services. It operates directly managed food material marts in Seoul, the metropolitan area, and the Chungcheong region. It is preparing for a KOSDAQ initial public offering (IPO) next year. It surpassed 100 billion won in sales early last month.
The Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Association is a for-profit corporation for marketing by manufacturers, importers, and large corporation dealerships, aiming for joint sales, joint logistics, and mutual cooperation. Companies with sales of 20 billion won and more than 30 employees can participate as members. Currently, 52 companies nationwide are members. Their combined annual sales exceed 1 trillion won.
According to the agreement, TheMamma will cooperate to expand the offline business capabilities of Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Association member companies to online channels. To this end, by mid-next year, TheMamma plans to build a B2B exclusive menu for association members on its fresh food shopping app MaZa. The association will supply member products to TheMamma’s sales channels, and TheMamma will efficiently promote and sell these products.
By securing a dedicated page on the MaZa app, Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Association members can conveniently provide e-commerce services with low commission fees. Business customers such as restaurants and marts using MaZa can purchase high-quality products offered by association members at affordable prices. TheMamma plans to actively support the annual sales of Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Association members to grow by more than 20% through e-commerce.
Furthermore, there are plans to create and sell private brand (PB) products with member companies. Kim Minsu, CEO of TheMamma, said, "We will take responsibility for the online and IT logistics of Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Association members to create synergy effects," adding, "We will actively support them so they do not fall behind in the rapidly changing e-commerce market."
