According to the COVID-19 confirmed case status gathered by Yonhap News Agency through health authorities and local governments, the number of new confirmed cases as of 9 p.m. was 178 fewer than the same time the previous day. Considering that the number exceeded 5,300 at the same time last week on the 23rd, it is about 800 fewer, indicating that the scale of the outbreak has somewhat decreased.
Taking into account the remaining time until midnight, when the daily count is finalized, the number of newly confirmed cases for the day is expected to be around 5,000. Among the newly confirmed cases identified so far, 72% are from the Seoul metropolitan area, and the remaining 28% are from non-metropolitan areas.
