[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] SK Group announced on the 29th that it will exhibit its major subsidiaries' businesses and technologies aimed at reducing carbon emissions at CES2022, the home appliance and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, starting from the 5th of next month. The exhibition hall is themed around companionship. It embodies the meaning of ‘A carbon-free life, SK as your companion walking the path with you.’ Six subsidiaries, including SK Innovation, SK Telecom, SK E&S, SK Hynix, and SK Ecoplant, jointly set up the booth.
The company stated, "We attribute significance to this as a venue to announce our global carbon reduction commitments and as a starting point for the journey ahead," adding, "We plan to emphasize our pledge to strive with SK’s technology and innovation by 2030, and our determination to create an ecosystem in collaboration with various partners."
Previously, each company exhibited products separately in one space, but this time, under the theme of Net Zero (carbon neutrality), each company will jointly communicate their efforts and impacts toward carbon reduction with various partners by thematic topics. The exhibition hall, named the ‘Green Forest Pavilion,’ is divided into four zones, allowing visitors to experience it like a journey. Among the four zones, the first, Green Avenue, showcases eco-friendly technologies and products, and the second, Tree of Life, introduces carbon neutrality projects with partners that SK has invested in or collaborates with. Additionally, visitors will have hands-on opportunities to participate in carbon reduction and learn ways to reduce carbon emissions in daily life.
