On the 28th, the county signed an agreement with Chilwon Taxi, Tongil Taxi, and Haman Taxi, the regional partner companies of Haman Sarang Taxi, to ensure smooth operation of the service next year. The agreement covers business operation and support, safety, and protection of user rights.
The signing ceremony was attended by County Governor Jo Geun-je, representatives of the contracted taxi companies, and related public officials.
During the next year's project period, the three companies will provide transportation to safely take Haman Sarang Taxi users to and from hospitals for medical treatment.
The Haman Sarang Taxi operation project started independently by the county in 2013, and in April 2019, it became the first local government nationwide to enact an ordinance supporting Haman Sarang Taxi to provide hospital transportation convenience for low-income chronic disease patients.
Applicants submit their requests to each eup/myeon office, and after county approval, selected service users receive support of up to 110,000 KRW per month per person, paying only 3,000 KRW per trip themselves.
Within the county, up to five trips per month are supported, and outside the county, there is no limit on the number of trips but support is capped at 80,000 KRW. Any amount exceeding the support limit is borne by the user.
