The Most Popular Book is 'Dallergut Dream Department Store'... Yes24 'Book Club' 3rd Anniversary Statistics
Yes24, a bookstore, has launched an unlimited e-book subscription platform called 'Book Club,' and the most popular book over the past three years is the healing fantasy novel "Dollar Gut Dream Department Store" by author Im Yae-mi. The second place is taken by Kim Cho-yeop's first short story collection published in 2019, "If We Cannot Travel at the Speed of Light." The third place was recorded by "Wide and Shallow Knowledge 0 (Zero) for Intellectual Conversation," a brief knowledge guide that helps understand oneself and the world.
"Dollar Gut Dream Department Store," which ranked first in Yes24's annual comprehensive bestseller list as of November 2021, not only holds the top spot in Book Club's popular books but also ranked first in the complete reading rate analysis for both last year and this year, proving its widespread popularity and immersive storytelling simultaneously.
Meanwhile, examining the market share by category within the top 100 popular books over three years in Book Club, the novel category showed the highest share at 26%. Humanities, economics & business management, and self-development each accounted for 17% of the share. The essay category followed with a 9% share.
