Gwangju Nambu Police Station Investigator Confirmed Positive... Partial Closure of Main Building
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Nambu Police Station has partially closed its main building due to the occurrence of COVID-19 confirmed cases.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 28th, one investigator belonging to the Nambu Police Station was confirmed positive this morning.
The investigator was classified as a close contact after having lunch on the 22nd with a police officer from a district police substation in Nam-gu who was a prior confirmed case, and underwent a diagnostic test.
The test initially came back negative, and the investigator entered self-quarantine, but after experiencing suspicious symptoms from the previous day, was retested and confirmed infected.
Currently, access to the 3rd floor of the main building where the investigator worked is completely restricted, and about 30 colleagues have been placed under self-quarantine. Incident reports are being received at the integrated duty office.
Comprehensive testing is currently underway, and results are expected tomorrow morning. A Nambu Police Station official stated, "If no additional confirmed cases arise, operations are planned to resume from the 29th."
