Seoul City’s ‘Youth Employment Academy’ is an institution that provides a ‘total youth employment solution’ by offering free practical skills training in digital new technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution to job seekers in their 20s and 30s and linking them to employment and entrepreneurship. The goal is to train 2,000 technical personnel annually in 4th Industrial Revolution technologies, supply field-oriented talents needed by companies, and alleviate youth unemployment.
The ‘Youth Employment Academy’ is a representative youth policy of Mayor Oh Se-hoon and part of the job ladder restoration policy presented in the city’s master plan, ‘Seoul Vision 2030.’ The Geumcheon Campus, which is holding its opening ceremony on this day, is the second campus following the Yeongdeungpo Campus, which opened earlier, and started education on November 22. Seoul City plans to open a total of 10 campuses throughout Seoul by 2030.
Mayor Oh will visit the learning site at Geumcheon Campus where offline lectures are in progress to encourage instructors and students, and will also tour facilities such as the complex space ‘Open Camp’ (4th floor), which can host various learning activities and events like hackathons, and the learning space ‘Class’ (3rd floor).
