[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Hunid Technologies (hereinafter Hunid) has signed the 4th supply contract for the large-capacity wireless transmission system (HCTRS) of the military's next-generation tactical information communication network (hereinafter TICN) with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.
According to Hunid on the 27th, the supply contract is worth 394.5 billion KRW, equivalent to 199% of Hunid's previous year's sales. Hunid plans to supply HCTRS until 2025 to advance the military's operational capabilities.
The TICN project involves replacing analog military communications with a digital communication network, with a budget of about 5 trillion KRW. Since 2016, Hunid has been supplying the HCTRS, developed purely with its own technology, to the military, and this 4th batch will mark the conclusion of the TICN project.
Hunid is finalizing the development of an upgraded version of the product aimed at enhancing HCTRS transmission capabilities.
