Bohae Brewery Donates 'Cooking Wine' to Food Bank for Year-End
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Bohae Brewery (CEO Lim Ji-seon) donated cooking wine to deliver hope to neighbors in need as the year-end approaches.
Bohae Brewery announced on the 27th that it recently donated 1,200 boxes of cooking wine products in 500ml, 900ml, and 1.5L sizes to the Gwangju Metropolitan Food Bank under the Gwangju Metropolitan Social Welfare Council.
The donated cooking wine, worth approximately 26 million KRW, will be sequentially distributed to individual users through 17 basic food banks in the Gwangju area.
Bohae Cooking Wine, launched in 2018, is sold in four types: two household sizes of 500ml and 900ml, and commercial sizes of 1.5L and 18L.
It is mainly used to remove odors when cooking meat and fish dishes such as stir-fried pork or braised cutlassfish. Compared to competing products from other companies, it contains about twice the amount of rice, which enhances the umami flavor.

A Bohae Brewery official said, “We donated Bohae Cooking Wine to the Food Bank to offer even a small help to neighbors who are having a more painful year-end due to COVID-19. Although Bohae is also experiencing difficulties due to declining sales, we will do our best to fulfill the role of a local company by practicing donations where possible.”
