Hanwha Systems Signs 4th Mass Production Contract for Tactical Information Communication System Worth 605.9 Billion KRW
Completion of 육·해·공군 TICN Operational Deployment
Expectations for Maximizing Network-Centric Integrated Combat Capability
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hye-young] Hanwha Systems announced on the 27th that it has signed the 4th mass production contract worth 605.9 billion KRW for the Tactical Information Communication Network (TICN) with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.
TICN has been operationalized through initial, 2nd, and 3rd mass productions until 2022 after completing research and development in 2014. With this 4th mass production, the TICN operationalization for the Army, Navy, and Air Force is expected to be completed.
Hanwha Systems plans to deliver the core TICN items, including ▲Network Management and Switching System ▲Tactical Mobile Communication System ▲Small Capacity Wireless Transmission System, from 2022 to the first quarter of 2025, as in the previous 1st to 3rd phases.
TICN is a system that supports high-speed wired and wireless data transmission for military communication networks. It is a key system in establishing an advanced tactical command automation system (C4I) to prepare our military for future warfare.
Once TICN operationalization is completed, our military will be able to transmit and utilize large volumes of voice and video data in real time, and even if wired and wireless networks are destroyed during wartime, the military command and control and tactical communication systems can be maintained as is. This is expected to maximize integrated combat capabilities in response to network-centric future battlefields.
