[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] The Jangseong Police Station in Jeonnam (Chief Bae Seung-gwan) announced on the 27th that it conducted "Youth Guidance and Harmful Establishment Supervision Activities" to prevent delinquency and crime among teenagers who have finished the college entrance exam amid the festive year-end and New Year atmosphere.
Throughout this month, the Jangseong Police conducted a total of four sessions of supervision activities targeting harmful establishments, led by the Women's and Youth Division, in cooperation with related organizations such as the Jangseong Office of Education, Jangseong County Office, and the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center.
This activity, carried out throughout Jangseong County, focused on patrolling crime-prone areas such as parks and entertainment districts, guiding wandering youths to return home safely, distributing promotional materials for school violence prevention, and preventing delinquency such as underage drinking and smoking.
In particular, employees of convenience stores and other establishments handling alcoholic beverages and tobacco were urged to strictly prohibit the sale of harmful substances to youths and to thoroughly verify age through identification such as resident registration cards.
A representative of the Jangseong Police Station said, "There are concerns about reckless behavior and delinquency among youths who have finished the college entrance exam during a time when social distancing has been strengthened due to the spread of COVID-19," and added, "We ask for special attention and caution from guardians and local residents to ensure a safe and healthy year-end and New Year."
