[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] On the 25th at around 2:48 PM, a fire broke out at a guesthouse in Anhyeon-dong, Gangneung-si, Gangwon Province, and it was confirmed that the large flames were contained after about three hours.
The fire department controlled the large flames around 6:15 PM and is currently extinguishing the remaining embers. They are clearing the residual fire by removing debris with heavy equipment, so it is expected to take some time before the fire is completely extinguished. No casualties have been reported.
Because the fire occurred near the seaside and vehicle access was difficult, firefighters had to connect six 15-meter hoses to extinguish the fire.
