According to the quarantine authorities and local governments including Seoul City, from midnight to 6 PM on this day, a total of 3,499 people tested positive for COVID-19 across 17 cities and provinces nationwide.
This is 677 fewer than the 4,176 cases recorded at the same time the previous day. Compared to 3,511 cases recorded at the same time a week ago on the 18th, it is 12 fewer.
However, since there is still time until midnight, the number of confirmed cases is expected to increase further.
New confirmed cases were 2,149 (61.4%) in the metropolitan area and 1,350 (38.6%) in non-metropolitan areas.

By city and province, Gyeonggi had the highest number with 974 cases. Others included Seoul with 899, Busan 365, Incheon 276, Gyeongnam 173, Gyeongbuk 130, Daegu 118, Chungnam and Gangwon each 99, Jeonbuk 71, Chungbuk 66, Gwangju 62, Ulsan 53, Daejeon 47, Jeonnam 35, Jeju 28, and Sejong 4 cases.
