According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, the number of new COVID-19 cases nationwide from midnight to 9 p.m. on the day was counted at 5,057. This is the total number of confirmed cases in 16 out of 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, excluding Busan.
This is 641 fewer than the 5,698 cases recorded at the same time the previous day, and 1,284 fewer than the 6,341 cases recorded at the same time a week ago (the 17th).
By region, 3,550 cases were reported in the metropolitan area, and 1,507 cases in non-metropolitan areas. By city and province, the numbers were Seoul 1,823, Gyeonggi 1,328, Incheon 399, Busan 323, Chungnam 161, Gyeongnam 159, Gangwon 147, Gyeongbuk 128, Jeonbuk 106, Daegu 103, Daejeon 89, Gwangju 78, Chungbuk 70, Ulsan 54, Jeonnam 53, Sejong 21, and Jeju 15.
