Ministry of Unification Grants Preliminary Approval for 24 Inter-Korean Exchange and Cooperation Projects Led by Local Governments
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Ministry of Unification announced on the 24th that it has given preliminary approval to 24 inter-Korean exchange and cooperation projects promoted by 10 local governments.
The preliminary approval system allows local governments to receive prior approval from the Ministry of Unification if certain conditions are met, even before signing an exchange agreement with the North.
Goyang City is planning inter-Korean flower exchange and a unification music concert, while Paju City, Gimje City, and Cheongsong County are considering agricultural cooperation projects using local specialties (Paju Jangdan soybeans, Gimje seed potatoes, Cheongsong apples) and cultural exchange projects.
