Coupang-KT Collaborate on Logistics Center Fire Prevention... '24-Hour Remote Management of Firefighting and Fire Information'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Coupang is promoting a business cooperation with KT to strengthen fire safety at logistics centers and respond swiftly to fires.
On the 23rd, Coupang and KT held a signing ceremony for a "Memorandum of Understanding for Fire Safety at Logistics Centers" at KT's Songpa Office in Seoul. Attendees included Ryan Brown, Coupang's Vice President and Head of Environment, Health, and Safety, and Song Jae-ho, Vice President of KT's AI/DX Convergence Business Division. Both companies pledged to actively cooperate to realize platform-based digital transformation (DX) in the field of fire safety.
The main content of the agreement is to establish an integrated management system that can remotely check and manage fire alarm information installed at each Coupang logistics center. This system will enable integrated monitoring of fire safety facilities across all Coupang logistics centers nationwide to prevent fires and minimize damage in case of accidents.
During the process of building the fire monitoring system, Coupang plans to adopt KT's fire DX solution. Information such as the status of fire safety facilities and fire detection will be provided in real-time 24/7 to building fire safety managers, allowing headquarters to also understand on-site situations. Additionally, through data analysis, fire prevention measures can be established, and optimized fire safety equipment can be installed at each logistics center.
Song Jae-ho, Vice President of KT, said, "The two companies will showcase tangible results in various fields that can create synergy, including safety, health, and environment at logistics centers as well as digital logistics, beyond just fire safety."
