Atmosphere at Samsung Seoul Hospital during 'Special Pardon' of Park Geun-hye's Hospitalization

Former President Park Geun-hye will be released on the 31st through a special New Year's pardon, 4 years and 9 months after being imprisoned on March 31, 2017, for the state affairs manipulation scandal. On the 24th, the government announced that it would grant special pardons, sentence reductions, and reinstatements to 3,094 people, including former President Park and general criminal offenders, to mark the New Year. Former President Park is currently hospitalized at Samsung Seoul Hospital in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for treatment of chronic illnesses. She is expected to maintain her hospitalization for the time being and be released from there. It has been reported that she will not stop by Seoul Detention Center, and items used during her incarceration will be separately collected through a proxy.
