[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Seven Eleven announced on the 24th that Choi Kyung-ho, CEO of Seven Eleven, received the Presidential Citation at the '2021 Labor-Management Culture Merit Government Awards Ceremony' hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 23rd.
'Labor-Management Culture Merit' is a government award system that recognizes individuals who have played a leading role in spreading a win-win and cooperative labor-management culture in the workplace.
CEO Choi was recognized for prioritizing corporate culture improvement by establishing dedicated organizations such as the 'Work Abandonment Committee' and 'Corporate Culture TFT,' thereby establishing a horizontal organizational culture and cooperative labor-management relations. Specifically, the focus was on ▲creating an open organizational culture through various communication channels ▲improving work immersion by eliminating work interference factors ▲creating a flexible work environment for work-family balance ▲contributing to youth job creation through expanded hiring ▲and employing vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities.
As part of corporate culture innovation, Seven Eleven regularly conducts on-tact meetings and educational programs for employees. Given the nature of the convenience store business with branches distributed nationwide, CEO Choi held a 'CEO Talk Concert' visiting sites to listen to diverse stories from field employees. Through various communication channels such as the 'reverse mentoring system' involving executives and new employees, and the introduction of the 'Employee Grievance Counseling Center and Psychological Care Counseling Service,' employees' ideas and opinions are continuously reflected in company management.
Additionally, Seven Eleven operates an internal communication board called 'Seven Square' as a space for active communication and gathering employee opinions, allowing the exchange of ideas and suggestions regarding company policies.
Furthermore, various support measures are in place to foster a happy organizational culture and work environment, including the employee cultural activity support system 'Euratchacha Coupon,' the introduction of the 'PC-OFF system,' the 'Joint Annual Leave System,' and the 'Flexible Work System.' This year, to revitalize corporate culture stagnated by COVID-19, an online sports competition called the 'Seven Cup eSports Tournament' was held, in which all employees could participate.
